Let me introduce myself!

My name is Destinie Vidrio (they/she), I identify as an asexual queer demi-woman. I come from Italian and Mexican ancestry and incorporate the healing folk magick and practices of my ancestors in my therapy work. I have a M.S. in Counseling Psychology where I specialized in Attachment Theory and Techniques and I am currently working on my PhD in Depth Psychology specializing in integrative therapy & healing.

I grew up in Southern California in Temecula, CA, Luiseño/ Payómkawichum land, and currently live on Chumash land/ Santa Barbara.

I come from a family of both survivors of abuse, perpetrators of abuse, substance users, suicide, warriors and healers. I have learned so much from witnessing and hearing their stories, both the good and the bad. My ancestral and individual healing is one of the things that have led me on my path of becoming a therapist and healer.

I first identified as a Witch when I was 13 years old, and have been practicing witchcraft since. Though I didn’t identify as a witch until I was 13 I was raised in a home where magick was very present and where my relationship with nature was cultivated and celebrated. I also come from a lineage of Polish witches. My witch identity and upbringing are a huge influence on my therapeutic and healing practices and I incorporate a lot of these practices in my therapy sessions.

I am also a geek and find comfort in my fandoms, games and geek community. Over the years as a therapist I have started integrating more and more geek culture into my therapeutic practices for those who find comfort in their geekiness as well.
